To best of my knowledge, a person on EAD (probably not the primary candidate) can work for anyone.. It can be City, State, Federal or McDonald's at any position, part time or full time, provided the job does not involve any government classified information. Jobs involving classified information are only for citizens that too after proper background check.
Primary candidate might work for the government i.e. if job requires skills that citizens don't have and that group has a policy of filing H1's..

It is mentioned by many that PD should be current at the time of GC approval. Is that right?
I know people from India who got their GC approved when their PD is not current.
One can check this easily in looking for I-485 approvals to people from India who submitted their applications concurrently in EB2 category after say april 2004. Disregard the cases which got approved in July 2007. Still there are many cases remaining invalidating the 'rule'!

This appears to be more relavant given the need for rejuvenating the state chapters. Why not we have this as simple links on the main page itself and make it damn easy to join the chapter. The most important thing to do is to have the members join the chapters and have the contact numbers. Once these are there the IV state chapters could follow up and get the activities rolling with these members.
Bottom line: Have the state chapter joining links on the main page and have it simplified for the members to join very easily ( kind of taking the name, contact number and email and nothing more) later the chapter core could get in touch with them and get the complete profile. A kind of marketing gimmick.

I am sorry to ask...If H1B doesn't have I-94 attatched to it and it was approved when my friend was in india, he can work on L1. My question is, if he moves out of country and get H1B stamped, can he work on L1?
As it is not a change of status. If he gets it stamped on his passport and enters the county on H1B. YES he can. I strongly recommend to get his visa stamped in India until unless he has a US degree.

Hi,
If I enter using H1-B/L1visa then I-94 validity end date will be ususally till the visa expiration date.
Suppose if I am entering US on Advanced Parole(I-131), what will be the validity enddate for I-94? If suppose they give for 1 year how to extend that if i am not going out-off US?

I think mom's in the forum can answer this better since i am sure many of them took short term disablity during delivery and subsequent months. My wife took it twice for the birth of our children and I dont think it is an issue.

Well bill, that passed by voice vote this morning, but not before the Senate voted down a proposal from Senator Schumer to table the Sessions proposal. Senator Leahy, in an astute move prior to the vote on Sessions' E-Verify bill, amended that bill to include a permanent extension of the EB-5 Regional Pilot Program. So, Leahy's amendment permanently extending the EB-5 Regional Pilot Program was approved too!
Senator DeMint from South Carolina threw in a bill to mandate the construction of actual fences along 700 miles of the Southern Border, taking away the right of DHS/CBP to decide how best to protect that border. That has also passed.
Senator Hatch has now introduced a bill which includes positive changes including undoing the Widow Penalty, and a religious worker extension and a rural doctors program extension. You can still call the Senate Switchboard to voice your support for this latter bill, and your disgust with the Senate passage of laws without debate that will affect millions of lives and cost billions of dollars. You can reach your Senator by calling 202-224-3121.
All of these amendments, of course, must now go back to a conference committee with the House, and there is no guarantee that any of them will become law. But, lest you thought your time to relax from calling your Congressman was over, it has now started again. Also this case is about my friend.
He shared all this information with me.
This is a Pittsburgh PA based case, YMMV.
My friend who has an approved labor/i140 and also a pending i485, received a news that his father was ill in India. He wanted to fly to India right away but his AP had expired. Here is what our Internal Immigration lawyer suggested him....
"You must go to the district office to screen and make a determination as to whether your situation is a qualifying emergency. They are responsible for accepting and processing the I-131 in emergency situations. Here is a link to the address and appointment procedure for the Pittsburgh office. https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=offices.detail&office=PIT&OfficeLocator.office_type=LO&OfficeLocator.zipcode=15220 You should take a completed I-131, $305 filing fee, 2 passport photos, passport (and copy), I-94 copy and evidence of your father�s situation. Remember that you have to prove that this is a medical emergency."
So he took an Infopass appointment, which he got for the very next day! He then visited the Pittsburgh local office (which is normally not so busy) with a completed i-131, photos, fees, passport, copy of passport, i-94 and a FAX proof from India Doctors which explained his fathers situation.
An interview took place, where they asked expected questions and then an Internal Director approved. He was told to wait for 1 hour and he was handed 2 copies of temporary Advance Parole which is valid for 4 months.
I myself was wondering if one can get emergency advance parole and this example shows that if you show all the proof and go to a local office they will help you as much as possible and also give you an AP within 1-2 hours.
(The only bad thing is, my friend will have to spend $305 again for an approval which lasts for 1 or 2 years)
