This is good news..But the Damage is already been done..in the past.....
I guess DOL had some 300K cases pending when Backlog center started..It adjudicated some 150K till now.( Rough Estimate) and still 150 K left.
Even if considering 10000 Labors been substituted till now ...Imagine the wait period for rest of us. I wish this law was enacted, when they started Backlog centers..
Anyway..something is better than nothing....Hope for the Best...for new laws regarding SKIL,CIR Etc..atleast filing 485 when Visa numbers are not available..

If these numbers are correct then total EB-I pending applications are about 125K only. Thats less than one year of total quota and If USCIS work properly then this backlog can be cleared in one year (ignoring ROW for now). But thats not happening and backlog is increasing every year, especially for India.
Howcome, USCIS reports that pending I-485 is 620249 as Jan'2009.
Something is wrong. I wish we can get pending applications per year per category.

There are companies with H-1B workers who are so-called ``on the bench,'' meaning they are ready to be deployed to a project. Hundreds of foreign workers are standing by waiting for work.
I totally support reform in the H1 process with a target to reduce fraud. That will ultimately benefit people like us who will come here on H1B in future.
To the best of my knowledge (correct me if I am wrong) H-1B can not be applied for contract worker if the visa has to be applied on demand and bench is not allowed.
How will contract wokers come here in the future?

They handover the PP to VFS today (Jan 4th) after long waiting. My wife’s appointment was on DEC 19th at Chennai Consulate. Best of luck for you guys..

I have not received any. Generally the notice goes to the employer or the attorney who filed the petition on our behalf. Moreover I have checked with my previous employer. They are suspecting the case got reopened because of the H1B withdrawal petition that was filed sometime back. Things will be clear only after they receive the notice.

Zoom, thanks for the initiative. Just wanted to make sure if there are any legality issues behind core accessing the IV funds for administrative costs. Because once we donate it to IV funds(unless there is a provision for them to access that money as reimbursement administrative cost) it may not serve the intended purpose.

Did it say anything on your online account about RFE when you received the email, or you just got the email i.e. when you click on the receipt number it shows status of the case which usually shows a generic message that the case was received and is pending, so did that message change?
If not, then did anybody else who got the RFE had that message changed?

2. Remove per country cap- It is stupid to look for diversity in a category based on intellect. The whole category is created for improving America's brain power so a country cap does not make sense.

If a country has more than 10,000 qualified people then approx. 10 of them will be super intelligent! This has to be true. In addition diversity adds to different ways of thinking and is the reason for soft quota for MBA admissions. Hence, diversity quota will be there. The only thing we could ask for to assign diversity score for each country. For example, India with 2000 languages is very diverse compared to other country say Iraq. Hence every country should be allocated quota based on their diversity score.

The new generation thought stock market is for educated people where you understand the company principles/profits/analysis etc... But it is turning out more like GAMBLING.

After 5-10 years, you can sell and use it for your kid's education or you can construct
rental houses.
Make sure the LAND documents are correct and there is proper security for it.
