I cannot find the status online or on the phone. I get the same message. They don't give info to the beneficiary. So attorney called and after spending 30 mins on the phone they were able to locate my I140. He said that once they put it online they will sent an email. This was few weeks ago and still nothing happened. But my employer received a letter from Nebraska stating that attorney or someone called to find the status of the I140 and that it will take some days(I don't remember the exact number as I know that it will take much longer than what they specified) to process this case.
There are so many people who are in this situation.

I have been with the same employer for over 8 years. I am sure it will be 9 years before I get my GC. I am very happy with my employer and want to continue with them after I get my GC.

I think we need the limit to go or at least double. I think the best way to make the congress and also the american voters happy is to NOT increase the visa numbers or bring in SKILL bill but to increase the existing 7% limit. This way they will be happy as the same number of ppl are getting PR and we will be happy as the priority dates will move forward.

We have had several wonderful members who have joined the chapter already. We are forming local networks in Nashville, Memphis and Knoxville so that it's easier for all TN members to participate in the chapter activities. Coordination of the activities will be done through the Yahoo group.
I'll be coordinating activities in Nashville area. So if you are from Nashville or surburbs, feel free to PM me.
Mahatma has kindly agreed to coordinate the activities in Knoxville area. If you are in Knoxville or surrounding areas PM him, he'll help us get organized. Members like him who already have their GCs and helping our cause is a real insiration to the rest of us.

Practically not much.
If FP is for EAD, one is likely to get EAD soon with fingerprints.
If FP is for GC, it usually gets OK in 2-10 days and then there will be a soft LUD. GC application remains in pending state for Priority Date, Processing Date and Name Check (now there is NC override of six months).
FP is not a bottleneck, except for few cases - they have not received FP notices for the past 8-10 months.
It is expected that Priority Date and Processing Date will be cause of delays
so my pd is current now september 2005 row , my rd is july 2nd 2007 , i had not receive fingerprint notice yet but last week i took infopass and io shedule for 28 th may 2008 ,
after may 28 2008 , after taking fingerprint for my i 485 what do you think they will process my case straight forward ?

why do you say that the audit is for pending applications only?
the news article says that they are auditing all PERM applications filed by Fragomen, which means that pending and approved applications will be audited. The article doesn't mention the timeframe either.
audit is only on pending applications..i dont think it is on certified..
also they may process fugmon cases fase..hope they dont denied any..

I am proud of my 4 year old girl. She has written a letter to the President. When a 4 year old can write , we have 25k adult members and only about 500 of them have sent letters! Why ?

If the law is changed. All dates will be current. if it's not changed your date from 2005 means squat. There are abt 200K ppl in the line ahead of you.. no way you are getting anything this life.. maybe you can leave your PD in inheritance to your kid born in India :)
So your GC process shouldn't be a factor.. you got great offer.. leave..!

Otherwise, you may get stuck with a bad job, a bad company, a bad boss and still not getting your green card, either because of the backlog or unforeseen lay-off. At that time, you will realize you have got nothing... That feeling really sucks!!! :mad:

Go for consulting job where you can stick to one company and continue your gc process. You will get better paid, you will meet more people, you will learn more and once you get green card you will have options to choose from the contacts.

h1b is a dual intent visa - u can continue to hold h1 status even if 485 has been filed and pending
u can also file for ead and keep both h1b and EAD statuses at the same time. working on ead will not make h1 invalid.

NSC has an interesting way of working. Oct 06 cases are pending and they are approving Dec 06 cases.... never think of predicting what govt is (in)capable of :D

Titles do matter as they are the first ones to catch the eye. To me it appears you are moving from a PM position to a tech specialist position (at least on paper) and you might have some problems there. If possible, try to request for a title with "manager" in it. If that is impossible, try to go by matching SOC code. Does your prospective employer have a legal immigration team to help out?

I am not sure about what went wrong with H1/H4 situation. But if you are worried about filing your 485 then you can go ahead with it and later you can add your spouse to your 485 application. Try to get your spouse back ASAP.
