I too got query for AP to send clear copies of all data pages of PP,
where did you make color copies and how much it would be ?
Do we need to take all pages from the passport !

I did it in Kinkos, I took all data pages in color and empty pages in black and white. It cost me around $15. (For two people). I also included all I 94 Cards.

I have a h1B and a EAD. I was laid off one week back. Will there will be a problem if i take 6 months vacation, get a master degree, Try doing a business. Do i need to immediately find a job. I will be getting unemployment benifits and i think my H1B won't be valid since i lost my job and my next job would be on EAD.
Any suggestions, I am waiting for an answer from my attorney too.

Can anyone give me the combination of numbers to dial to speak to an IO for the texas centre?I know its been passed around before but i just cant seem to find it .Thanks a lot in advance..Also do you think its any use me calling rite now,my PD is EB2 India..aug 2003..Applied in june.Is it too soon to try ...just itching to call once:)Thanks again for any help.

Just in-case one gets layed-off and has an EAD, can that person buy a 7-Eleven or a Gas Station?
Can the EAD holder actually run the gas station/7-eleven by working/being present there? (Maybe he/she can work there and take all the profit but no salary).
What happens if there is an RFE asking for proof of employment during this period?
You will have to persue your gas station business parallel to your GC job (or similar job if you are using AC-21 portability).

Thanx. But I didn't quite clearly get that. You mean, we need to fill the forms with :
<blank> for given_name as in passport or,
<FNU> for given_name as in visa stamp or,
<First_name> for given_name the way we want ?.
Please explain. When we go for FP, the names on the application forms must match the names on the passports, right ?.

If unsure, go with the lease date. No harm informing USCIS earlier. I've changed my address before and trust me...it is a freaking mess. Here's my advice:
1) If you file online, make sure you save yr receipt. If paper file, make sure it is certified/registered mail.
2) 1 to 2 months after filing, schedule an Infopass and ask the officer to verify the updated address.

I am in the same boat. No 485 receipts for me or my wife. Got EAD and AP receipts only for myself. 485 filled at NSC on July 2nd. EAD and AP also filled at NSC but on Aug 15, 2007. I think NSC is still data entering July 2nd cases.

Efficiency of NSC is real shame. I heard sometime back that NSC has huge backlog compared to TSC. That is why TSC cases are getting approved in 1-2months and at NSC average time is 5-6 months. I guess they are forcing people to convert to PP.

hi is there any hope for eb-2 india?since its has retrogressed,can we expect any forward movement in the next few months?is there any chance of further retrogression?are there too many cases coming out of back log centres?
my case r got cleared from backlog centre few months back and i-140 recently approved,my pd is oct 2002 eb-2.iam so unlucky for the past so many yrs ,now that its approved i dont have a chance to apply for 485 as dates retrogressed.is there any hope in the next few months for a forward movement?by 2007 oct eb-2 will it be able to reach atleast 2003 end or 2004 begining?
You should be happy. In the next 2-3 months your PD will be current. I am confident your PD will soon be current.

Well there is a thread here talking about the pros and cons of multiple 485 filing so that means it can be done. As far as i have read its not illegal but it might delay the process. Different lawyers have diff opinion. Both our lawyers agreed for multiple filing and so to be on the safe side(one has an early PD and the other's job is more stable) we are filing 2 485s, but only one EAD and AP.

Because you paying with CC on eFile and they give you receipt for payment, receipt for filing right away and this is your evidence of reception. In other words, you know your case number from the moment you push the button and with eFile you wil not have such question - where to file. They will deal with that on their own. All other stuff, reception notice, FP appointment notice will come a bit later to address you wil put with forms.

My job as Mechanical Engineer is stable and employer is willing to help me. I have a PhD in Engineering with about 30 years experience in industry and teaching. However, because of industry work I do not have many publications. I am a Fellow of IEI and a recognised PhD guide in Indian University, can get good recommendations too. Can I try for EB1 in some catagory?
